Woolroom Organic Washable Wool 3-in-1 Duvet (Double, 2-15 Tog)

3-in-1 Wool Duvet

From: Woolroom

The Woolroom Organic Washable Wool Duvet 2-15 Tog is a 3-in-1 duvet built for the British climate. It comes as two separate duvets - a light 2-5 tog and a medium 7-10 tog - that popper together to make an 11-14 tog winter duvet. Swap layers in and out as the seasons change.

Fill is 100% organic British wool wrapped in a 300 thread count organic cotton cover. Wool naturally regulates temperature and manages moisture, so nights stay comfortable whether it's warm or cold outside.

It's Allergy UK approved and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class 1 certified. The whole thing goes in the washing machine on a 40 degree wool cycle. Every fibre traces back to the farm via the Wool ID programme.

Product Features

3-in-1 Tog Adjustment - Two duvets popper together giving you three tog options: 2-5, 7-10, or 11-14 combined. No need to buy separate duvets for summer and winter. One purchase covers the whole year. Machine Washable Wool - Wash the whole duvet at 40 degrees on a wool cycle. Most wool duvets need dry cleaning or spot treatment only. This one goes straight in your washing machine at home, saving time and money. Hypoallergenic Certification - It holds the Allergy UK Seal of Approval, the only natural duvet with this status. Wool naturally resists dust mites, which matters if you suffer from allergies or asthma.
Full Wool Traceability - The Wool ID programme tracks every fibre back to the farm it came from. You know exactly where your duvet's filling originated, right down to the sheep. Organic Cotton Cover - The 300 thread count cover is unbleached organic sateen cotton. It's soft against skin and highly breathable, letting the wool inside do its job of regulating temperature. Ethical Sourcing - Wool comes from British farms audited against the 5 Freedoms in the Animal Welfare Act 2019. Farms are certified organic, meaning no routine antibiotics or pesticides are used on the sheep.

FAQs

How does the 3-in-1 system actually work?

You get two separate duvets in the box. One is a light 2-5 tog duvet suited to warm summer nights. The other is a medium 7-10 tog duvet for spring and autumn. When you need extra warmth for winter, popper the two together to create an 11-14 tog duvet. The poppers run along the edges and hold the layers securely so they don't shift around during the night.

Can I wash this duvet at home?

Yes. Wash it on a wool or delicate cycle at 40 degrees using a wool-specific detergent. Keep the spin speed below 800RPM to protect the wool fibres. Line dry only - do not put it in a tumble dryer, as heat can damage the wool structure and cause shrinkage.

Why choose wool over polyester or down filling?

Wool has been shown to deliver 25% better sleep quality compared to polyester or down/feather duvets in scientific testing. Wool fibres actively manage moisture by absorbing and releasing it throughout the night, which helps prevent that clammy feeling you get with synthetic fills. It also breathes better, keeping you at a more stable temperature.

Is this duvet suitable if I have allergies?

Yes. It carries the Allergy UK Seal of Approval, making it the only natural duvet to hold this certification. Wool is naturally resistant to dust mites because of its structure, which makes it a good option if you suffer from allergies, asthma, or eczema. It's also OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class 1 certified, meaning it's tested for harmful substances.

What does "full traceability" mean with the Wool ID programme?

Every batch of wool used in this duvet can be traced back to the specific British farm it came from. Woolroom audits these farms to ensure they follow the 5 Freedoms outlined in the Animal Welfare Act 2019. This gives you transparency over exactly where the material in your duvet originated and how the sheep were treated.

What sizes and tog options are available?

The duvet comes in Single, Double, King and Superking sizes. For tog weight, you can choose Lightweight (2-5 tog), Medium weight (7-10 tog), Warm weight (11-14 tog), or the Custom weight 2-15 Tog option reviewed here, which includes both layers for full flexibility.

Does it come with a trial period?

Yes. Woolroom offers a 30-night sleep trial. This gives you time to test the duvet at home and see how it performs across a few different nights before deciding to keep it.

Where is this duvet made?

It's designed in the UK and manufactured in the EU. The wool itself is sourced from British farms, while the cover is made from organic cotton with a 300 thread count sateen weave.
